Diamela De Veer Pueyo, MarineGEO Postdoc

Diamela is currently a postdoctoral fellow with the Marine Invasions Laboratory and MarineGEO where she's coordinating the Ocean Travelers II project. She studied at the Universidad de Cadiz (Spain) where she obtained her BS in marine sciences in 2013. She completed the MSC in Integrated Management of Coastal Zones in 2015 where she focused on the relationship between human activities and coastal processes. During her PhD in Chile between 2018 and 2023, she worked on participative science projects focused on anthropogenic marine litter research along the coasts of East Pacific. Diamela's research interests include working with schoolchildren, volunteers, and scientists to investigate marine litter and their impacts in the environment.
