Kelley is a research associate with the Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve (MANERR). She is particularly interested in studying the effects of freshwater on water quality and benthic organisms. Currently she's conducting long term monitoring of water quality, weather, vegetation, and sediment deposition/erosion in MANERR to better understand the estuary and to support natural resource management decision-making. Kelley received her BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and her MS from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2017.
Kelley is a contributor to the Gulf Coast, Texas Observatory.
